GUSTAVS
- KUSTAVI Kustavi got its- name from the Swedish King Gustav Ill who founded the parish bearing his name on the northern boundary of the Finnish archipelago. Today the municipality of Kustavi is the lively center of the northern part of the archipelago with thousands of islands and skerries that offers a wide range of tourist services. In Kustavi there are a number of handicraft shops, factory shops, summer restaurants, holiday villages, and sea cruises and fishing trips are arranged. History is present in the wooden cruciform church dating from 1783. The beautiful votive ship models testify to the gratefulness of mariners in the past to their home parish The Isokari lighthouse is a popular place to visit. Groups and holiday makers are offered other program packages and excursions including: a cruise to Isokari and a one day trip in Kustavi. Kustavi has good boat connections to Åland-Ahvenanmaa from the Vuosnainen quay and elsewhere to the Archipelago Trial from the Laupunen quay to Iniö.
