Game fishing on the archipelago is very rewarding because there is a diverse variety of fish species and fish stocks are plentiful.

This does not mean that the fishing is easy. The fisherman must be in possession of the basic fishing skills. The quarry is a challenge to you and your fishing skills. The archipelago is an unbelievably diversified fishing area with about 40 000 islands and hundreds of thousands of rocky islets. Here everybody can find his or hers own fishing place.

In and around the archipelago pike are the number one fighting fish, giving the fisherman an experience of a life time. Sea trout is the desired catch of many a hopeful fisherman. This speckled flanked, silver prince of fish can fulfil your dreams when you book a holiday here at the right time of the year and use the appropriate fishing techniques.

Perch is a very interesting fish that has a special place in the archipelago where they grow really large, sometimes over 2 kilos.

Baltic herring and flounders are very delicious species of fish and they can also be caught on rod and line. Inside the archipelago you can fish for pike-perch and particularly during the winter months burbot is the catch of most fishermen.

The archipelago´s diversity gives rise to many fine fishing possibilities but on the other hand game fishing here requires skill and knowledge of where to catch fish, when the fish are not feeding, can be difficult. Only through time can you learn to read nature properly. It is good to know how fish move around in difficult winds, strong currents and variations in temperatures in the different layers of water.

Fishermen new to the area are offered a shortcut, a local fishing guide who knows the area like the back of his hand and can show you all the best fishing spots, instructs you on the required fishing techniques and gives sound advice on the right way to travel around the archipelago so that you don't interfere with this delicate environment.
