The northern route

The ferry Aurora is of great significance to Iniö and the entire archipelago, but particularly to tourism.

The trip from Iniö's Jumo harbour to Laupunen harbour in Kustavi takes less than half an hour. There are excellent connections in many directions from Kustavi, Taivassalo, Askainen, Merimasku, Velkua and Rymättylä, i.e. from the archipelago's northern region.

The shipping channel to Sweden runs from Turku south of Rymättylä, past Seili to Omenaistenaukio. From Aaslaluoto in Rymättylä, it is only then kilometres by boat to Pargas and Nagu, whereas by car, the trip is ten times longer.

If you are travelling by bus, there are excellent connections to the region from Turku. You can take the morning bus from Turku to Teerisalo, make a return trip to Velkua by ferry and even have time for lunch before the bus returns to Turku. A very enjoyable day-trip, well worth trying!
